BARISAN Nasional candidate Amizar Abu Adam won the Pelangai state seat by defeating Kasim Samat of Perikatan Nasional with a 2,949-vote majority, according to unofficial results.

Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said Amizar had secured a win over his challengers by a big margin.
