CHIEF Minister of Penang and state DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow has decided to stay out of the state party election on September 22. 

At a specially convened press conference, he said he had decided not to defend his chairman’s post despite being notified in a letter from DAP’s headquarters on August 27 that he had been nominated.
